In 2005 I began to write a book on Primal Source Reiki, an energy healing system I have developed from ancient source roots such as traditional Chinese Medicine, Bon Buddhism, Ayurvedic, and Sanskrit.

The symbols of Usui Reiki have deep origins Sanskrit and in Buddhist healing methods such as Tibetan Bon Buddhist Medicine. (The Bon tradition is perhaps the oldest branch of Tibetan Buddhism.) In the 1990’s more information has come out of Japan about Mikao Usui himself and his background. Usui was very familiar with the concepts of Chinese traditional medicine - the meridians and the five elements (fire, earth, air, water, metal) that rule our organs and our constitution (physical, mental, and emotional). The five elements are also the basics of the Ayurvedic Medicine tradition out of India. India is home of Sanskrit and Buddhism. The word chakra IS a Sanskrit word, and is the only word we have for the flowering vortices that are essential to our aura and to our human form (the body is the 1st layer of the aura). These are basics from which Usui’s method formed. Reiki means Universal Life Force. While in the Occidental world Reiki refers specifically to Usui’s method, in Japan the word Reiki can be used to mean “energy healing”. I named this healing technology “Primal Source” as that is what we will be dealing with, the Primal level of energy, building blocks of the aura. Primal Source Reiki does have some basis in Buddhism and the deities of Buddhism, but does not require or even hint that you should be Buddhist in belief, just as you don’t have to be Asian to receive acupuncture!

In the Primal Source Reiki Level One Practitioner course you will learn to draw and say Sanskrit symbols for the chakras, the organs and five elements. Then we’ll begin to work with one another to enhance these basic building block energies in each other’s auric fields. I will give you an individual energy attunement, an opening and correcting of each workshop participant’s field back to its Source Pattern. Level One will be held September 17 & 18 of 2005. Level One will be repeated some time in 2006, and a Level Two will be taught in 2006 (keep looking at the Calendar of Events page for dates to be set).

I consider teaching to be my opus, my “Great Work”, especially my Reiki Master Training Program, which is a year long event. I anticipate beginning another Reiki Master Training (running from November of 2005 to November of 2006) on November 20th of 2005. (See the Calendar of Events page for dates.)
