Savatri

Angel IofielSavatri’s special quality is Infinity. The Vedic lore, the basis of Hinduism and Buddhism, speaks of celestial deities called adityas, "infinite ones". Savatri is one of the Veda’s seven shining celestial deities or angels. These shining ones exist both as males and females and are associated with the suns (stars).

Savatri is associated with the Creator aspect of God called Prajapati in Hinduism. Hinduism seeks to know God, through It’s many activities manifesting as a "group" of beings who are ultimately all One.

The stars in Savatri’s veil show her celestial, starry origins. Her blue veil symbolizes her connection to the mysteries, that which is still a potential, an unknown. Savatri’s beauty and power come from the fact that they are fed by the part of God that has no end - it is not finite. In her gaze you can sense the eternal, the absence of the limits of time. Savatri’s countenance says, "I know God has no beginning and no end, is everlasting." Her full lips show her connection to the sensory, manifest world God created.

You might say Savatri’s true form is the "substance" out of which time was born. On Savatri’s forehead rests the full moon and above her the Central Sun, or star, from which ALL Creation was born. The circlet of light surrounding her head is symbolic of the original Dance of Creation when God began to pull the known Universe into existence.
