Zotiel stands on the edge of the celestial waters of Heaven and cries out, "God loves you, welcome back!", to all souls who have gone astray and then returned to the fold. The prophet Enoch wrote of seeing Zotiel during his journey "beyond the Erythraean Sea."

Zotiel’s symbol is a pair of doves. A pair of doves has long been a symbol of true love. The doves "belong" with one another. They are a set, a matched pair. Zotiel belongs with God much as the doves belong with one another. She also knows, with her entire Essence, that we all belong with God.

The dove is a Christian symbol of the Holy Spirit. It has gentle qualities, is peaceful in nature, and has the ability to soar and descend. Because of these qualities, the dove was used in Freemasonry and by the ancient Egyptians to symbolize the touch of spirit-filled forces. Zotiel, too, is gentle and peaceful, with extraordinary capacity to travel between Heaven and Earth.

Zotiel’s special task is to help us know and feel that we belong. We are not separate, not alone. We are part of a pair: us and God. In any situation in your life in which you feel alone, whether it is a current event or a past memory, you can appeal to Zotiel to stand with you. Zotiel’s radiance will shine on you and let you know that even when you may feel most separate God’s angel messenger will be with you bringing comfort and connection.

One of Zotiel’s favorite tasks is to be present with parents whenever a baby is being born. If the parents are aligned with the special God quality Zotiel represents, then the baby will always feel welcomed into their life and into the world.

Frequently in our adolescence we have difficulty feeling Zotiel’s energies. As part of emotional recovery work you might visualize Zotiel standing near you during some adolescent memory that is particularly stuck in your psyche. Allow Zotiel to help you release the soul memory by imaging God’s radiance shining through her and creating light around you.

Imagine yourself walking on a shore. You may feel the breeze and smell the moisture in the air. Imagine that you hold out your hand and a beautiful, soft dove lights on it. Then you see a smiling angel approaching. She, too, has a dove on her hand. The second dove also flies to you. The beautiful angel speaks to you, "welcome". The welcome repeats softly within your mind and heart, a quiet repetition like a peaceful chant soothing your heart.

Zotiel and her doves are always with you. The quiet "welcome" they bring beats to the rhythm of your heartbeat and breathing. Listen to the sound of your breath, feel the beat of your own heart. With each of those rhythms you relax, feeling more and more welcomed, more peaceful. Continuing this rhythm of beauty, remember a time in your life when you felt alone. Notice how your body stays relaxed and you continue to feel warmth and acceptance. The old, cold of "alone" melts with the gift of Zotiel’s radiance smile and companionship.
